Nobody was ever informed about, or got to weight up and decide, what the costs and benefits to the covid response are, and what should be done.

Because they were censored and bullied and silenced, and a campaign of fearmongering and coercion has been instituted.

Only "experts" who are hopelessly entangled with the pharmaceutical industry and gain of function research into coronaviruses have been permitted to speak. Experts who have frequently been wrong, backtracked, and even lied.

And people wonder why there is a significant skepticism. Replace covid with WMD and pharma with military, and the same playbook was used to coerce nations into going to war against Iraq.

If someone's kids got fat or got fatter I would suggest it was because the parents passed on bad habits and poor self discipline and need to consider a healthier lifestyle for themselves and their kids.

What we shouldn't do is allow people to go out and infect each other because little johnny sits in one spot playing Nintendo and eating too many chips.

America and a lot of the effected kids had a problem before covid and we need to both protect each other from covid and lose a few pounds myself included.

There was a lot of discussion on striking the right balance as far as public health decisions. Locally for example you could have talked to your cities leadership, your states leadership, you could have got together and lobbied your states senators/Congress or the federal leadership. Many did in fact you just don't like how it shook out.

If you think a different strategy would have worked better elect different folks.

That doesn't address what I wrote. And you can't wash your hands of social effects of government policy "because it's their fault".
