If chatgpt could actually replace developers, or was at the verge of recreating a new smarter version of itself, it could have created an original browser, which would at least have been interesting. So this does expose the extent of the hype.

When OpenAI has an outage - all your colleagues just stop working at once. The price will go up, and you will be stuck, when half your teams are machines. Meanwhile your customers are out of work, and your business tanks. The problem is not that this will happen, the problem is your boss thinks this will happen and is no longer hiring.

My PowerMac G4 still works, and I run Tiger on that. In a similar way I plan to remain on Ventura on my main Mac. All my hardware and software applications continue to work just fine.

A hundred afternoons later my small application is finally completed; now I must maintain update and document it all for ever rather than relying on third party components. What I really wish is people would look closer to home; for example use some of the thousands of functions that ship with your operating system before downloading a package.

I have this problem at work with our node apps.

With things like reduce, map, the like their is less need to rely on lodash or underscore for them.

The problem with node is that it doesn't ship with a stdlib.

That being said, lodash has worked great for utility stuff. It encapsulates like 99% of utility functions I need in my apps.

It is much worse than this; the elite works to actively divide the populace and distract us. Note how divisive politics has become; divide and conquer.

I think the main mystery about the UK govts approach can be solved when your realise it is not very clever; just very incompetent. The whole word has been stunned by the herd immunity experiment policy; only to have it denied a week later. We are fools led by clowns.
