Ignorance is the natural enemy of Democracy.

If the authorities elected to serve in this town were OK with this raid, you can bet a significant portion of the local population was too.

Microsoft, where is the AI?

Gaming is one area where I would expect AI to be a natural fit. If the logic is slightly suspect --- no real harm done.

The real question is, who is to blame for this --- the lawyers or Boeing?

Boeing is truly sorry --- for shooting itself in the foot by overriding quality, safety and engineering judgment in the quest for more profit.

In other words, greed is *not* good. It is self defeating.

Show of hands --- Who wants to pay more for electricity?

There are only 2 options --- either embrace the future or get steam rolled by it.

Unfortunately, Anerica has chosen the latter and America last will be the result.

Under current conditions, it's not possible to know the real cost. With venture capital being dumped into their laps, even OpenAI may not have a good handle on this.

This will be determined and revealed later --- after you have incorporated OpenAI into your workflow. But I'd bet that it will be more than most expect.

But as long as everyone accepts the claim — Moses, his fellow tribesmen, the audience reading the Book of Exodus — then it has de facto social truth, which is the only truth this kind of claim ever really needs.

I have a slightly different take.

The only thing Moses really accepted was the need for law and order.

Jails and prisons don't really work for nomadic peoples so Moses invented a judicial systm run by an all powerful (but invisible) entity that can see and hear everything.

He sold this idea to his people for the most practical and mudane of reasons --- in order to help maintain some semblance of control and unity.

This made perfect sense at the time --- survival demanded it. What makes less sense is simple minded individuals looking toward the firmament (aka sky dome) for guidance thousands of years later when we now know that the only thing up there is air.

They're just trying to work around a fundamental flaw of all "communal" organizational structures --- freeloaders, aka human nature.

Forced labor is typically a last ditch effort to prop up a system that is inherently unsustainable.

Is anyone really surprised by this?

Google is like a dairy farm --- users are being milked for their privacy. And it is *not* being done to benefit the cows.

Dumb idea --- just don't collect the tariffs. Then no need for a rebate.
