Most programmers are just code plumbers. It's not like most of you are some research scientists breaking into the unknown. In fact for most jobs I've held programming has been by far the easiest part of the job. Understanding the 'real' requirements from the client (not what they think they want but what they actually want) and many other things are on a completely different level of complexity. Computers are the most basic parts of a business. I've also noticed that most software people are horrible at understanding the business that they are operating in. And think that management is the one that doesn't understand things. Except it's the other way around. Engineers are optimizing the parts that don't need optimizing and don't focus on bringing value to the business.

And then we wonder why our software can’t run acceptably on multi ghz processors.

Musk was not a founder. He might have been an early investor but he didn't found the company. Stop lying with your fucking propaganda. I hope Musk bought you a pony for your bullshit. You are a musk shill. Stop trying to rewrite history you shill.

You can't attack fellow users like this on HN. I've banned the account.

No one is saying you owe $billionaire better but you certainly owe this community much better if you're participating here.

If you don't want to be banned, you're welcome to email hn@ycombinator.com and give us reason to believe that you'll follow the rules in the future. They're here: https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html.

Musk is a founder in literally every sense of the word. He joined the company early, was a key investor, designed early products, and had a major leadership role (chairman of the board and then CEO) - from the start. In addition, the matter has been adjudicated in a court of law - Musk is a founder. The company Tesla recognizes him as a founder.

Against the overwhelming and undisputed evidence and common sense you have only childish insults. You don't even try to make your case. Sad, but at least you know you're wrong.

Rich people usually control their weight better because they have more money to have better food and perhaps personal cooks/access to better restaurants with better food. They act differently because they are rich. Not because of any sort of bullshit mEnTaLiTy concept.

It's chicken egg thing.

Or at they rich because they act differently?

Come on, if you had the money it's 10x easier to "let yourself go", right? Yet how often does that happen?

Your thoughts drive your decisions and actions. That's not bullshit. That's life. Suck it up cupcake :)

Why would I choose the inferior product?

Have you met hipsters ?

Who said you would? You'd choose the superior product.

You meant to write Chrome.

Why would they care about developers? They care about their customers. People buy their stuff and you, as a dev, have to support Safari. Whether you like it or not. It's called work.

"the beatings will continue and you will like it"

They are begging for their collars.

Laughable take. When there was only IE6 people complained. Now that there is more than one people complain that they have to test their stuff more and wish to go back to one browser to rule them all. You don't like testing? How hard can it be to test on the top 3-4 browsers? Maybe it's not wasted dev time, it's called work? Maybe software industry isn't for you... Sidenote: Why so many snowflakes on HN? Too much entitlement or is it the easy money? In what job is it considered acceptable to not test on half the devices in the world?

If you think PG is a great writer and fascinating mind you absolutely need to expand your horizons.

I am not saying PG is Shakespeare, PG is good in his field of writing, i.e. giving random(but useful) advice to wannabe founders who listen.

I'd rather stay away from Linux than from my trusty nVidia card. Sorry but not sorry. The innovative stuff coming from nVidia can't be ignored (always one or more steps ahead of AMD). Linux can.

My point was about a desktop machine. You could access a cluster of Linux machines with NVIDIA cards from your AMD-based desktop.
