Not OP, but look into Jim Green's barefoot line, Vivobarefoot, Vibrams, Xero shoes, etc. There are more and more brands adopting barefoot styles, includig Merril! I live in my Jim Green Barefoot Africna Rangers. I use them for every occasion besides working out. I use Vivobarefoot and Vibrams 5 Finger shoes for running.

Why would a launcher need to share my location with third parties?

Built in weather widget

Thanks. I figured, but boy, does this annoy me. Google, for example, refuses to show me the weather without location permission. I am perfectly capable of telling it where I want to see the weather, but it will not allow me to see any weather without a location permission. (Usually I think Samsung screws up their design decisions relative to Google, but they do get this one right.)

Similarly, it seems to me, a launcher does not need to share my location with a third party to request weather. It can simply request weather in, say, a ZIP code, and then, if it must, refine the results it presents to me based on my location. (Or, better, there must be some way for it to delegate weather requests to a weather app of my choice, and let the weather app figure out my location through whatever mechanism I have already approved for that app.)

a Kagi Ultimate subscription gets you access to both (plus others) for $25/mo

Perplexity too, which I've found the most useful for access to top-end AI models with a massive reduction in hallucinations.

This is only via API though. There is a level of magic that Claude.ai and ChatGPT bring to the table that makes it worthwhile.

I can't speak to any new features announced today but the API version of Claude has been superior in every way when paired with a more feature rich front end.

what frontend are you talking about?

Something like Sillytavern let's you edit the AI output which isn't an option in the web version.

Sillytavern also supports prefills which is an API feature not allowed on the web version.

Editing the system prompt is also not permitted in the web version but should be doable in any third party front-end.

I also use Poe sometimes which doesn't have all those features but at least allows custom system prompts when using Claude.

This is only in the chat mode. You also don't get the full context limit and file uploads for those modes.

This makes me even less interested in buying a Tesla while he's in charge. Imagine what he can do with your Tesla, with all of its telemetry.

This is a very large part of why modern cars aren't of interest to me. It's not just Tesla. The same problem exists with all EVs as near as I can tell, and more modern ICE vehicles.

Check out the app Spectograph. It has a great watch face for WearOS that offers that same feature.

Thanks!

I think this might be pretty close to what you're looking for. It's an RSS feed reader with a platform for discussions.

It's difficult to work remotely in Lebanon unless you have access to reliable electricity and a solid internet connection. Both of which are unfortunately scarce.
