I have a whole closet full of this heavy junk - its not like I am going to hang them up and display proudly in my home. "Hey check this sweet medal from the 50K I finished last in 12 years ago!"

At least race participation shirts have some utility.

> Trump, whether or not you like him, is far more charismatic

Really? Maybe a decade ago, but now? He cannot keep a coherent thought for more than a few seconds, so every speech is a fucking rambling mess. Even subtitles cannot help make sense of it most of the time.

> - his success is built on his charisma

Bullshitter sales people can be very charming at times, I will give you that.

> At least most Christians and Muslims accept that others don't believe in their religion and, for the most part, don't force them to act as if they do.

I've actually found Christians in America quite to be forcing their beliefs quite loudly upon everyone. Pretty wild to be personally offended by the tiny fraction of a percent that is the trans population (of which an even tinier amount is vocal as you say they are).

But you acknowledge that it is overbearing and undesirable for them to force their beliefs, and if someone called you "bigot" for complaining about this you would probably object, right?

If republicans wanted to negotiate, why did Mike Johnson send everyone home?

Why has a newly elected democrat been waiting over a fucking month to get sworn into the house?

"look - this fight will be over if you stop trying to defend yourself from my swinging fists"

“We lost so many series of important elections that now we have no power. So, we’ll just obstruct the party in power and our “side” will support the very actions we would cry bloody murder over”

Modern cars are also way harder to work on than in the past. You used to be able to buy a Haynes manual for every major car and could do most of the repair work if you wanted! Nowadays, not so much. Specialized tools galore, tearing apart the whole car for minor hidden things... This one is far more on the car manufacturers than consumers IMHO. I am also sad about the death of the manual transmission. Glad to have gotten one of the final years that Mini will be producing them!

They are harder to work on in the past, but people have developed the belief that they're actually impossible to work on. A huge amount of car repair is still doable by the average person.

It rings less bells than “I love the uneducated” and “grab them by the pussy” if we are talking about gross things said by powerful politicians. For me, at least.

No more hashing allowed? That will make things rather difficult.

I have coworkers who, on a zoom meeting, will respond to questions and discussions by spamming the zoom chat with paste-dumps of ChatGPT, etc. So frustrating and tiresome.

If possible I just go silent when people start copy and pasting ChatGPT at me. Only works in certain cases like Teams/Slack DMs, but it does remove a distraction from my day.

I start responding again when they can be bothered to formulate their own thoughts.

You can have press conferences all day every day but if Fox News and Newsmax are not going to air or cover it, then the people that need to wake up won't get the message.
