What? If something, I'd talk about spirituality instead. There can be a spirituality without religion, but also a religion without spirituality. Beware!
Sometimes I think about what I've read in a book about Japan.
Something along the lines that Japanese people are analog while Westerners are digital.
We try to explain everything, every emotion, feeling, how things are. But sometimes talking about things strips them of their mystery, of the unknowns. We talk too much and get entangled in meanings and what was formless and fluid before suddenly becomes defined and limited.
Thanks for sharing a potentially useful tool but I will not use it without a lot more details about how this browser extension secures the 2FA secrets from sketchy websites/ads.
Most trusted desktop password manager apps can manage and autofill OTPs in browsers as well, e.g. KeepassXC and 1password. (If you're making the tradeoff anyway, I think you may as well use a password manager you already trust with other secrets.)
For me, it was playing a musical instrument (transverse flute, then shakuhachi) that showed me that I really don't know how to breathe deeply with my diaphragm. Or, that I wasn't aware of it at all, now my breathing is more conscious, and I tend to focus on it many times, for example, when I'm just walking on the street. Concentrating on your breath is a great way to stay rooted in the present and become aware of your thought processes. Breathing is magical :)
I'll chip in with my shameless plug - Latudio [0]. A language learning app where all the content was written and audio recorded by real humans™.
We purposedly went that way, with no ads and a one-time payment option.
I feel that human touch is what makes our interactions special as everyone is different, unique, imperfect while being the same like everyone else, in a way...
Howewer as a relatively new and bootstrapped app in the market we have still some way to go. As a next step we are investigating how to add audiobooks and podcasts. Would someone be interested to cooperate?
I had turned autocomplete off as well. Way too many times it was just plain wrong and distracting. I'd like it to be turned on for method documentation only, though, where it worked well once the method was completed, but so far I wasn't able to customize it this way.
Try Spanish in Latudio [0]. It is not quite for beginners, you need to have at least basic vocabulary, but regarding immersion, it should fit what you are looking for. It uses a listening-first approach and contextual translations with vocabulary and lets you explore words you didn't get in other contexts.
Do they have a version that's not a mobile app? Or will it at least work on the desktop/web browser? I'm not going to use something like that on my phone.
