Another one a parent strongly recommended was Numberblocks, entertaining stories around maths, visualizing patterns etc.

How do you feed them large code bases usually?

Use an AI-supporting editor like Cursor, or GitHub CoPilot, or perhaps Sonnet 3.7's GitHub integration.

Makes me sick to my stomach, this is such an evil stance as they're directly involved in the warcrimes, and deserves far more attention by boycotts.

It actually does, there's a number on the top-right, right of Auto. Goes from 9[1] to 154, and then 154 2.0x zoom which seems like a digital zoom at that stage[2].

They're available but not always free.

Reminds me of KBB.com who were "unable" to remove my personal data after they determined I'm not in California.

They share your phone/email with lots of dealers if you request a quote and don't read the fine print like I didn't...

Stick an old phone into their pocket/bagpack, sim ideal but not required.

Connect that phone to your phone hotspot, so you can turn on your hotspot and, if the phone connects, it's nearby plus you can use Find My to track it from there, play sound... etc.

Bonus if you have access to e.g. XFinity or whichever is the most prevalent free wifi around, so your phone can come online occasionally.

I appreciate this as a hack but it:

1) does not sound reliable or easy

2) fails open (if something doesn’t happen, that means something bad happened)

Oh it's absolutely a hack for the better-than-having nothing scenario :)

My main issue was remembering to charge the old phone every few days as I'm not in need of this regularly, so more of an occasional thing like to an unfamiliar place/country, or on a trip to Disney.

I assume it's also jailing kids for peace, and stirring the hornet's nest doesn't sound very peaceful when there are peace talks coming up on the same subject.

They might have the better PR team, but for sure looking at actions rather than just words, it's clear who's the bad guy putting aside the whole typical "our ally" narrative.
