I have to say to anyone that's put off, the audio really doesn't seem to be that bad. There's a crackle maybe twice a minute when the presenter moves his head, but as someone with audio-processing issues, I have no issues following along with headphones.

That's directly from the live stream… there will be a video version on media.ccc.de in the future, sometimes that is better.

But it seems that one speaker's mic has some issues, I doubt anyone will clean that up.

The audio is fine. There's for sure a notable difference in the frequency spectrum between the two voices due the fact that one comes from a better microphone and is directly sampled while the other comes off a presumably low rate audio stream. Nothing however than filtering and normalization applied in the right intervals can't correct. This aside, I found both of them very understandable although they're not native English speakers, just like me.
