Is there a control group with mice wearing tin hats?

Jokes aside, the topic is often ridiculed, although often it is just lacking knowledge, intelligence, upbringing, class and character that drives them to ridicule something they don't know anything about.

Of course EM waves with certain frequencies could have an effect on many organisms in a variety of ways and it isn't just the obvious like a cat in a microwave. Even just visible light can have an impact on us and it isn't just psychological. Of course these frequencies are absorbed and won't reach the brain. But other frequencies do. The probability of an interaction would be quite high. Problems is that there are quite arcane assertions what some EM waves would do. This seems to be quite well researched.

What happens to the Electromagnetic Field when a photon is absorbed? Is it split into an electric and magnetic field?

You know the SAR measurement of cellphone is only measuring the electric field.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Specific_absorption_rate "SAR for electromagnetic energy can be calculated from the electric field within the tissue as: "

https://www.ramayes.com/SAR_Specific_Absorption_Rate_Systems... "• To measure the electric field based on antenna probes inside the phantom in various places."

https://aip.scitation.org/doi/10.1063/1.5122488 "In the numerical scheme, Maxwell’s equation is employed to determine electric field, and SAR is estimated using electric field values. Results show that most of the energy associated with the 5G frequencies is absorbed in epidermis layer of skin tissue. "

But what about the magnetic field which will travel much further? Why is there no measurements of this field?

You can see very clearly in this paper there is a huge difference: https://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1406/1406.2442.pdf

So it may be that the magnetic field is causing issues in the body, like depolarizing voltage gated calcium changes deep in the brain.

Magnetic field and electric field are directly linked by the Maxwell’s equations. When you study one, you study both.

Can measure the electric field around a magnet that is not moving?

And I’m not talking about studying them I’m talking about measuring them.

It is commonly claimed that the small electric absorption depth of the human skin prevents electric and magnetic fields from penetrating the body. However, this argument is not physically justified. The electromagnetic field is a dual entity with an electric and a magnetic component, simultaneously created by the time-variable electric charges and currents. However, the elaboration of the differential coupling equations of electric and magnetic fields propagated in dielectric, diamagnetic or paramagnetic media suggests that neither Maxwell’s equations nor their solutions indicate continuous and constant causal links between the fields. Instead, they only form a dual entity of an electric and a magnetic component, created by their time-variable electric charges and currents [36].
