> In fact, they can probably, as an artist explore more ideas than ever before thanks to AI, without spending hours on an idea / project that may not pan out. Then focus your time on the ones that you feel will work. The field will evolve, and things will definitely change. People need to change along with it.

On the whole, I believe at a minimum, it definitely devalues digital art, since it will increasingly become difficult to distinguish authentic, hand-made stuff from the output of some AI.

I don't think there's any devaluing going on. Art, in monetary values, has always been hyper-inflated. It's based on a commodity market, which has always devalued digital art.

My focus is on art as an expression of an idea or feeling - which AI can definitely improve and make more accessible. AI cannot create new art on its own - it still needs someone at the helm. If you are already an artist focused on that type of work, it is no threat to you.

If you're focused on art as cranking out designs and commercial work - then yes, it's possible that type of work will be harder to come by since it will make that part of the market far more accessible to others.

At the end of the day, AI is not sentient and can't take away jobs that require a human input.
