Yes, the criterion we apply is "is this substantially the same story", and/or (more or less the same thing) "can this lead to a substantially different discussion" than the previous thread.
This one is substantially the same story, hence it's treated as a dupe, even though of course it's not the same article.
That's not the equation. It's something more like: "HN discussion of corrected paper proof is unlikely to be sufficiently different from HN discussion of earlier release on same work".
