I'd generalize the entire list to "we're destroying software with rules-based thinking". Almost everything bad in software derives from someone rigidly following rules like don't repeat yourself, don't reinvent the wheel, don't be clever, etc.

There are instances where this is good advice, but when they turn into rigid rules, bad software is the inevitable result.
