EO: Defending US Companies from Foreign Extortion and Fines (whitehouse.gov)

I'm assuming this will apply to Mexico trying to punish Google for the Gulf of Mexico thing as well.

White House is set to treat unfair fines against US companies as a trade war and respond accordingly with tariffs. This will almost certainly apply to the DSA. The age of Europe treating Silicon Valley as their personal piggy bank is ending.

> treat unfair fines against US companies as a trade war

But the DSA exists to stop the proliferation of unfair fines.

If silicon valley is truly being treated as the EU's "personal piggy bank," why don't they simply shut down business operations in the EU? No one is forcing them to operate there. The truth is, despite the endless whining, American tech companies are still making money hand over fist in the EU.
