Have developers started to adopt "vibe coding" significantly? (eng-leadership.com)

The article doesn't actually address whether or not "vibe coding" is being significantly adopted.

I don't personally know any devs who are doing "vibe coding" in any real way. Honestly, the only times I've heard of people doing it has been on HN. That implies that the people doing it are pretty limited to the HN demographic, but I don't actually know. What I do know is that it's not common enough to have become a thing in my personal and professional circles.

I suspect the first big impact of vibe coding will be in the smaller, open source utilities arena. Then as the tools get better, they will be increasingly adopted by more mainstream software creators.

I'm curious to know the impact people are seeing due to this trend. I also wonder if "vibe coding" can be successfully applied at all to push production at all.

It's just WYSWIG with extra steps. The benefits are the same. The pitfalls ditto.
