I am curious what your background is. I also almost exclusively use Gemini 2.5, and my PhD colleagues in comp sci do the same.
However it seems like the general public, or people outside this bubble are more likely to use ChatGPT or Claude.
I wonder if it has something to do with the level of abstraction and questions that you give to Gemini, which might be related to the profession or way of typing.
Yeah I am also doing more "PhD-ish" stuff which I think is informing why I prefer Gemini. I think the reality is that most people aren't doing anything particularly novel so stuff other than the LLM's raw "reasoning" ability matters a lot more to them.
