This sounds like a terrible idea. I guess people have already forgotten about the East Palestine, Ohio train derailment carrying hazardous materials and the disaster it caused for that town https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Palestine,_Ohio,_train_de... .

People have not forgot, the executives and politicians don't care. I donate to your reelection and you adjust the law so I can make billions. Then after the disaster you tell the victims that the law allows them to sue for the value of a used empty gift card or chewed bubble gum, whichever is worth less.

This move is about putting the bottom line above safety.


How good are those inspections? I get we are going to automate as much as possible, but safety is the concern.
